जनता दरबार :
सर्वात मोठ्या ठाणे जिल्ह्याचे पालकमंत्री म्हणून जनतेशी थेट संवाद साधणारी आणि जनतेच्या प्रश्नांवर “ऑन द स्पॉट” तोडगा काढणारी “जनता दरबार” सारखी अभिनव संकल्पना श्री. गणेशजी नाईक यांनी राबविली. आज इतक्या वर्षानंतरही पालकमंत्री म्हणून जनतेशी सुसंवाद सुरु ठेवणारा जनता दरबार उपक्रमातील सातत्य हादेखील एक विक्रमच ठरावा.
‘जनतेने प्रेमाने व विश्वासाने आपले किंमती मत मला दिले आहे, त्यामुळे मी जनतेचा ऋणाईत आहे’ – ही भावना मनाशी बाळगूनच सर्वसामान्यांच्या हितरक्षणाचे ध्येय नजरेसमोर ठेवून गणेशजी नाईक जनतेच्या विश्वासाची परतफेड करतात. यातूनच त्यांच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली कार्यरत विविध संस्थांच्या माध्यमातून मोठ्या प्रमाणावर लोकोपयोगी कार्यक्रम हाती घेतले जातात.
“जनता दरबार” ची व्याप्ती अधिक वाढवत संपूर्ण ठाणे जिल्ह्यातील मुख्य ठिकाणी दरबाराचे आयोजन केले जाऊ लागले. “सुलभपणे उपलब्ध असणारा आपला हक्काचा मंत्री” ही जनसामान्यांच्या मनातील भावना अधिक दृढ झाली. जनता दरबाराचेही स्वरुप बदलत त्यांनी “उद्याचे काम आज करा, आणि आजचे काम आत्ताच करा” हे ब्रीदवाक्य धारण करीत तत्पर आणि कृतीशील कार्यपद्धतीवर भर दिलेला दिसून येते.
जनतेचा आपल्यावरील सार्थ विश्वास गणेशजी नाईक यांनी नेहमीच शहर विकासाच्या माध्यमातून नागरी सुविधांना आधुनिक तंत्रज्ञानाची जोड देत पूर्णत्वास नेला आहे. यामुळेच नवी मुंबई शहराची आज केवळ राज्य, देशाच्या नाही तर जगाच्या नकाशावरही स्वत :ची स्वतंत्र ओळख निर्माण झालेली दिसून येते.
